If any school administrator is going to be present at the Opening Ceremony, give the names to Joe so that he can announce them and have them recognized.

Last year banners will be unveiled along with state banners

John Jay choir will perform the National Anthem during the Opening Ceremony

Please arrive as soon as possible 4:45 but no later than 5:00 Pm

Please have your waivers readily if you have bowlers who are not eligible because of grades but the class they failed in is a Honor Class, Dual Credit, or AP.

Please be in the proper dress code, Competition Polo Shirt and black slacks/pants.  If your shirts are not ready, then ensure that they have a school color shirt.

Also have you coaches register volunteer badges with you and for those that have not received them yet, have a print out of your receipt available.

JV matches will be on Saturdays starting at 1:00PM on November 5^th.    They will be a five person team and bowl 3 single games

Those teams that have less than a 5 person team will have vacant scores.  Vacant score is the lowest average person on the opposing team

There is a total of 11-Girls Team and 19-Boys team.  The JV competition will be run as a youth league

Joe Vito will provide recaps for all bowlers trying out.

The recaps will have the following information: Name, School, Student ID, Phone Number, Gender, Grade and Email.  All coaches will be responsible for obtaining their own stats for their schools.

All-District Selection and All-District Tournament Representation

All District Selection will be performance base on Averages.  Top 4 bowlers (Boys/Girls) from each district get automatic seed.  Remainder 6 will be voted on by the coaches.  Total 10 bowlers

All-District tournament will be the Top average bowlers (top 4 automatic and other 4 bowlers selected.  Total roster is 8)

Bowling Schedule discussed with a few changes

No unopposed bowling.  If you have a bye that week, you will need to bowl against that bye in order to get the awarded points.  Coaches voted 6 to 2 in favor of bowling against a Bye (Ghost Team)

In order for us to complete our 16 game season, a proposal was suggested that we double up on non-district matches early on since they are like pre-season.  Possible Sunday Matches.  If we do this, then we will complete the season by February 16^th, 2011.  Two weeks before Regional competition.

JV will bowl 12 weeks of league style bowling on Saturdays.  Each school can have unlimited number amount of JV, the only thing is that each JV team has a 5 man roster.  They will bowl a total of three (3) single games…

Non-eligible bowlers (Waivers)

Those bowlers who are academically not eligible to bowl because of below average grade in AP, Dual Credit, Honors Course must have a waiver prior to bowling in competition and presented to the opposing coach.  Failure to provide the waiver will mean that bowler is not able to bowl.

Registered Volunteer badges

Only those coaches with valid Registered Volunteer credential will be permitted in the Bowling Pit area during competition.  If your coach or assistant coach does not have this credential, then he will have to coach from the concourse.

Need to obtain assistance coaches email address and phone numbers to add to coaches distribution list.

Eligible for Regional and State Singles competition

Bowlers must bowl 2/3 of the season in order to qualify for Regional and or State Singles competition.  Which means, in a 16 game season (x2 singles) matches equal 32 games possible.  2/3 of 32 is 21.33 games a bowlers needs to have bowled to be able to eligible for Regional or State Singles competition.  Failure to not having enough games (21.33 or 21 games) will not be eligible.

Tentative Scrimmage match

A tentative scrimmage match between the All-District (Girls and Boys) from last years North Side 2 will scrimmage against the Our Lady of the Lake bowling team.  Tentative date is Oct 22^nd.  Still needs to be finalized.  Make sure no conflicts
